Mirza Abbas moved from CCU to cabin in Singapore

Mirza Abbas, a standing committee member of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party and political adviser to the prime minister, has been shifted from the critical care unit (CCU) to a cabin at Singapore General Hospital, doctors said.

BNP media cell member Shairul Kabir Khan confirmed the development to the media on Friday, citing information from family members.

“After speaking with his family members there, I learned that Mirza Abbas is slightly better than before,” he said.

Mirza Abbas was flown to Singapore by air ambulance on March 15 after his physical condition deteriorated.

Earlier, on March 11, he suddenly lost consciousness while drinking water during iftar. When his condition did not improve, he was admitted to Evercare Hospital Dhaka late that night.

In the 13th National Parliament election, Abbas was elected as a member of parliament from the Dhaka-8 constituency, defeating Nasiruddin Patwary, chief coordinator of the National Citizen Party.
