The Civil Engineering Club, Department of Civil Engineering, Dhaka International University (DIU), in association with CADD Centre Bangladesh, successfully organized a seminar titled "Building Information Modeling (BIM) and Revit Architecture: Essential Skills for Future Civil Engineers" on 10 July 2026 at the university's permanent campus.
The seminar was honored by the presence of Hassan Tariq, CEO of CADD Centre Bangladesh. The technical session was conducted by Mohammad Shakhawat Hosen Apurba, Industry Expert & Certified Trainer at CADD Centre Bangladesh. Through an engaging and insightful presentation, he demonstrated the practical applications of Building Information Modeling (BIM) and Autodesk Revit Architecture, highlighting their transformative role in modern planning, design, coordination, and construction management. He also emphasized how BIM is reshaping the Architecture, Engineering, and Construction (AEC) industry while creating exciting career opportunities for future civil engineers.
The event was further enriched by the presence of distinguished guests and respected faculty members, including Mr. Mohammad Shah Alam Chowdhury, Student Welfare Director , Dhaka International University; Omar Faruk, Assistant Professor & Coordinator, Department of Civil Engineering, DIU; Saniul Haque Mahi, Assistant Professor & Assistant Proctor, Department of Civil Engineering, DIU; Md. Abul Hasanath, Assistant Professor, Department of Civil Engineering, DIU; along with other esteemed faculty members of the Department of Civil Engineering, Dhaka International University.
The seminar was organized under the special supervision of SM Sazzad Ahmed Shovon, Assistant Professor & Chairman, Department of Civil Engineering, Dhaka International University (DIU), and Chief Advisor, Civil Engineering Club, DIU. His continuous guidance, encouragement, and leadership played a vital role in the successful planning and execution of the event.
The program was also actively coordinated and supported by the Civil Engineering Club, DIU Executive Committee, led by Sabbir Ahmed Siddiki, President, and Nafiz Ahmed, General Secretary, along with all Executive Committee members, whose dedication, teamwork, and tireless efforts contributed significantly to the successful organization of the seminar.
Throughout the seminar, the speakers emphasized the importance of embracing emerging technologies, strengthening technical expertise, and continuously developing professional skills to remain competitive in the rapidly evolving engineering industry.
