Mushfiq stranded in Saudi Arabia amid Middle East conflict

Veteran Bangladesh cricketer Mushfiqur Rahim is currently stranded in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia after being forced to return midway through his journey due to the ongoing conflict in the Middle East.

The 38-year old had earlier flown to Saudi Arabia to perform Hajj and was all set to come back home via Dubai but his flight returned to Jeddah owing to the current situation in the Gulf countries.

“Assalamualaikum all. I came to Mecca for the Umrah Hajj a couple of days back. Alhamdulillah, had finished my Hajj and headed back to Bangladesh via Dubai (Emirates) today. We have flown this morning from Jeddah to Dubai via EK 0806,” Mushfiq wrote on social media.

“But unfortunately, due to the war between USA , Israel and Iran, all the flights have returned to Jeddah. Now I am in Jeddah airport including thousands of passengers. Only Almighty Allah knows when and how we will be able to go to Dhaka along with other Bangladeshi people. Seeking prayers.”
