The Pangaon Inland Container Terminal (PICT), located in Keraniganj, Dhaka, was visited by the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Bhutan to Bangladesh, Dasho Karma Hamu Dorji, last Sunday.
During the visit, she toured the terminal and gained insights into its operations.
The ambassador was welcomed by Chittagong Port Authority Member (Harbour & Marine), Commodore Ahmed Amin Abdullah.
She was briefed on the terminal’s overall activities, capacity, and services.
After inspecting various on-site operations, the ambassador expressed satisfaction with the infrastructure and facilities of Pangaon ICT.
She said that the terminal could significantly enhance Bhutan’s import-export activities, making trade more dynamic and efficient.
She also expressed optimism that such modern infrastructure would play a vital role in expanding regional trade.
Others present during the visit included Terminal Managers Golam Md. Sarwar and Md. Ashraf Karim Chowdhury, Commissioner of Pangaon Customs House Bashir Ahmed, and Chief Commercial Officer of Medlog Bangladesh Private Limited, Anisul Haque, along with officials and representatives from various government and private organizations.
At the end of the visit, the ambassador offered suggestions to further improve terminal operations.
Port officials expressed hope that her recommendations would help enhance coordination and increase operational efficiency in the future.
