BNP-nominated candidate Md Asaduzzaman has won the Jhenaidah-1 constituency in the 13th parliamentary election.
According to the unofficial result, Asaduzzaman, also the former attorney general, bagged 1,71,598 votes from a total of 117 polling centres.
His nearest rival, Jamaat-e-Islami-backed candidate Abu Saleh Md Matiar Rahman, got 55,577 votes.
The national election in 299 of the 300 constituencies and the referendum on the July National Charter were held simultaneously on Thursday
