KSRM donates medical equipment to CMCH

Leading steel manufacturer KSRM has donated modern medical equipment worth approximately Tk 2 crore to Chattogram Medical College Hospital (CMCH) to strengthen its healthcare services.

The equipment was formally handed over at a ceremony held at the hospital's conference room on Saturday.

KSRM Deputy Managing Director Selim Uddin handed over the equipment to Additional Secretary (Budget) of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare Arif Ahmed and CMCH Director Brigadier General Mohammad Taslim Uddin.

The donation includes four hemodialysis machines, four real-time 4D ultrasound machines, and one GE-brand advanced Color Doppler System, with a total value of nearly 2 crore taka.

According to hospital authorities, the newly installed Color Doppler System will allow patients to examine the direction and velocity of blood flow through color imaging free of charge. The technology is non-invasive, painless and free from harmful radiation. The hemodialysis and 4D ultrasound machines are also expected to significantly improve the hospital's diagnostic and treatment services.

Speaking at the event, Additional Secretary (Budget) Arif Ahmed said the 2,200-bed CMCH faces budget constraints, leaving many patients financially burdened while seeking treatment. He said KSRM's support would benefit thousands of patients and urged other industrial groups to come forward with similar humanitarian initiatives.

CMCH Director Brigadier General Mohammad Taslim Uddin said KSRM has always stood beside the hospital during critical times. He added that the newly donated equipment would help save the lives of critically ill patients and enable the hospital to provide advanced medical care at lower costs.

On behalf of KSRM, Director (Sales and Marketing) Jasim Uddin said the KSRM family is proud to be associated with CMCH in serving humanity. He said supporting humanitarian causes is part of the company's corporate social responsibility and that such assistance would continue in the future.

Among those present at the ceremony were KSRM Director Jasim Uddin; Deputy Director Dr. Ilias Chowdhury; Assistant Directors Dr. Kazi Saiful Alam, Dr. Deb Prasad Chakraborty and Dr. Ruma Bhattacharjee; KSRM Deputy General Managers Wahiduzzaman and Mostafa Anwar; Media Adviser Mizanul Islam; Manager Taj Uddin; Corporate Physicians Dr. Mezbah Uddin and Dr. Junaid Ahmed; Brand Coordinator Moniruzzaman Riyad; Mizan Ul Haque; Mithun Barua; Mizanul Islam, along with senior officials from KSRM and Chattogram Medical College Hospital.
