Grand celebration by Nikkon on International dance Day

Marking International Dance Day, a vibrant cultural evening filled with rhythm and expression enlivened Rajshahi. The renowned northern dance organization, Nikkon Dance Artists’ Group, arranged a grand event combining dance performances and discussions.

The program was held on Wednesday (April 29) at the Nikkon Auditorium, presided over by the organization’s founder and dance master, Hasib Panna. The Assistant High Commissioner of the Indian Embassy in Rajshahi, Manoj Kumar, attended the event as the chief guest.

Special guests included internationally acclaimed water scientist and distinguished violinist Professor Iqbal Matin, and Dr. Faruk Faisal, District Cultural Officer of the District Shilpakala Academy, Rajshahi.

Speakers at the discussion emphasized that although countless ethnic groups around the world possess diverse languages and cultures, dance remains a powerful medium of connection. Through gestures, expressions, and rhythm, dance transcends linguistic barriers and conveys emotions in a uniquely graceful manner.

The dance evening that followed featured captivating performances by Nikkon’s artists. Among the artists participating in the festival are Falak, Riddha, Manha, Kuhu, Mim, Ayatri, Nusrat, Subah, Maisha Naureen, Hiya, Tridita, Shreya, Banashree, Neha and Hridi. Under the direction of instructor Ayesha Akter Dalia and associate Sadika Sarwar Upoma, a group of talented performers including enthusiastic child dancers delivered mesmerizing presentations that deeply moved the audience and created a festive atmosphere throughout the auditorium.

The overall supervision of the event was carried out by Nur Hossain Mintu. Officials from the Indian Embassy, journalists from national and local media, and distinguished members of the city were present at the event.

Rich in rhythm, color, and emotion, the celebration gave International Dance Day a truly memorable dimension.
