The Dhaka International University Cultural Club (DIUCC) organized a vibrant Rabindra-Nazrul Festival 1433, celebrating the timeless literary, musical, and cultural legacy of Rabindranath Tagore and Kazi Nazrul Islam.
The program was graced by Shameem Haider Patwary, Chairman of the Board of Trustees (BOT), Dhaka International University, as the Chief Guest. Professor Md. Zahidul Islam, Vice Chancellor of Dhaka International University, along with distinguished guests and faculty members attended the program and expressed their appreciation for the initiative.
The festival featured captivating performances of Rabindra Sangeet, Nazrul Geeti, poetry recitation, dance, and other cultural presentations, creating a vibrant atmosphere celebrating Bengali literature, music, and heritage.
The event was further enriched by the presence of renowned Nazrul Sangeet artist Khairul Anam Shakil and distinguished Rabindra Sangeet artist Mohua Monjuri Sunonda as special guests. Their presence added a special dimension to the celebration and inspired the audience through their artistic excellence and deep connection with the musical traditions of Bengal.
The entire program was supervised and coordinated by Sharmistha Das, Assistant Professor and Mentor, DIUCC, along with Associate Professor Tania Mannan, Mentor, DIUCC; Omar Faruk, Assistant Professor and Chief Advisor, DIUCC; Doel Akter, Assistant Professor and Assistant Chief Advisor, DIUCC; and S. M. Mehedi Hasan, Lecturer and Advisor, DIUCC. Their collective guidance and dedication contributed significantly to the successful execution of the festival.
The festival highlighted the enduring influence of Rabindranath Tagore and Kazi Nazrul Islam in shaping Bengali literature, music, social consciousness, and cultural identity.
