Nandigram Upazila Press Club's Newly Elected Committee Takes Oath

The newly elected 24-member Executive Committee of the Nandigram Upazila Press Club for the 2026–2027 term was formally inaugurated and sworn in at a ceremony held in Bogura on Monday night.

Abdur Rouf Rubel of Dainik Punorutthan was elected President, while Nazrul Islam Doya of Dainik Bhorer Dak was re-elected General Secretary.

Founded in 1991, the journalists' organization held the oath-taking ceremony in the presence of its founding members. The oath was administered by Mohsin Ali Raju, former General Secretary of the Bogura Journalists' Union and a patron of the Press Club. The programme was hosted by journalist and poet H. Alim.

The newly elected committee includes Senior Vice President Zulfikar Ali Bhutto; Vice Presidents Abdul Barik and Mizanur Rahman; Senior Joint General Secretary Emdadul Haque Rony (Daily News Mail); Joint General Secretaries Russel Mahmud (Protidiner Sangbad/Joyjugantor) and Shahin Alam Saju; Organizing Secretary Nazmul Hasan Anan (Chandni Bazar); Joint Organizing Secretary Tansen Ali Montu; Office Secretary Salmir Islam; Treasurer Abdul Gafur; Literary and Cultural Secretary Russel Khan; Publicity Secretary Sultan Mahmud; Sports Secretary Anwar Hossain Tutul; and Library Secretary Mashiur Rahman Manik.

Executive Members are Sadikur Rahman, Farid Uddin, Mehedi Hasan, Tanvir Rahman, Nurun Nabi, Siam Hossain, Siamul Haque Rabbi, and Abu Hanif.

The club also appointed its founding members Nur Mohammad Badsha, Md. Bokul Hossain of The Daily Inqilab, and Md. Nazir Hossain as advisers to the new committee.

The ceremony was held at the Jivejal Restaurant Hall in Jaleshwaritala, Bogura. Special guests included Syed Fazle Rabbi Dollar, patron of the Press Club and former President of the Bogura Journalists' Union; Habibur Rashid Sandhan Sarkar, President of Bogura District Chhatra Dal; and journalist Babu Basudha.
