General Meeting of Nandigram Upazila Press Club, Seven-Member Drafting Committee Proposed

A general meeting of the Nandigram Upazila Press Club in Bogura was held on Tuesday. Several important decisions were taken at the meeting regarding establishing an inclusive and discrimination-free organization, improving professional standards through training, promoting responsible journalism, and formulating organizational policies.

The meeting was held at the Press Club office at Parthib Prangan on Tuesday (August 11) at noon, with members of the executive committee in attendance. The meeting was presided over by Nandigram Upazila Press Club President Abdur Rouf Rubel. Press Club General Secretary Nazrul Islam Doya proposed the formation of a seven-member committee to formulate the organizational structure.

Those present at the meeting included Vice Presidents Abdul Bareek and Mizanur Rahman Mukul; Senior Joint General Secretary Amdadul Haque Rony; Joint General Secretaries Russell Mahmud and Shaheen Alam Saju; Organizing Secretary Nazmul Hasan Anan; Assistant Organizing Secretary Tansen Ali Montu; Office Secretary Salmir Islam; Treasurer Abdul Gafur; Literary and Cultural Secretary Russell Khan; Publicity Secretary Sultan Mahmud; Sports Secretary Anwar Hossain Tutul; Library Secretary Mashiur Rahman Manik; and Executive Members Sadikur Rahman, Farid Uddin, Mehedi Hasan Rubel, Tanvir Rahman, Siam Hossain, Siamul Haque Rabbi, among others.

Established in 1991, the Press Club's current committee leaders have undertaken various planned initiatives to improve the professional standards of journalists. The meeting also discussed providing humanitarian assistance to journalists who are injured in road accidents, suffering from illness, or facing financial hardship.
