Dhaka International University (DIU) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with United Medical College Hospital to ensure access to quality, world-class healthcare services at affordable costs for the university’s teachers, officers, employees and students.
The MoU signing ceremony brought together senior officials from both institutions. Representing Dhaka International University were Professor Dr. Zahidul Islam, Vice Chancellor; Professor Dr. A. T. M. Mahbubur Rahman Sarker, Treasurer; Professor Md. Rafiqul Islam, Registrar; and Professor Mohammad Shah Alam Chowdhury, Director of Student Welfare.
United Healthcare Services Limited, representing United Medical College Hospital, was represented by Mohammad Faizur Rahman, Chief Executive Officer; Ariful Hoque, Assistant General Manager, Business Development; Tariq Sami Rahman, Manager; Neamah Al Rabbi, Manager, Corporate Marketing; Md. Masudul Karim, Assistant Manager, Corporate Marketing; and Mokim Md Niaz, Executive, Business Development.
Speaking at the ceremony, Professor Dr. Zahidul Islam, Vice Chancellor of Dhaka International University, said the agreement would provide a significant benefit to the university community by ensuring access to modern healthcare services at affordable prices.
He said, “The health and well-being of our teachers, officers, employees and students are among our priorities. Through this MoU, members of the Dhaka International University family will have the opportunity to receive world-class healthcare services at an affordable cost. We believe that access to quality healthcare is essential for a healthy and productive academic community.”
The Vice Chancellor expressed hope that the partnership would establish a strong and sustainable relationship between DIU and United Medical College Hospital. He also thanked the hospital authorities for agreeing to extend quality healthcare facilities to members of the university community.
Professor Md. Rafiqul Islam, Registrar of Dhaka International University, said the MoU would make quality healthcare more accessible to the university's large community.
He said, “This MoU is a very important initiative for the welfare of our teachers, officers, employees and students. Under this partnership, they will be able to access high-quality healthcare services at special and affordable rates. We hope this arrangement will provide our university community with greater confidence and security regarding their healthcare needs.”
He added that the university would continue to undertake initiatives that directly contribute to the welfare and overall well-being of its students, faculty members and staff.
Speaking on behalf of United Medical College Hospital, Mohammad Faizur Rahman, Chief Executive Officer of United Healthcare Services Limited, said the hospital was pleased to enter into the agreement with Dhaka International University.
